Dr Khalid Abdulnabi, Consultant Nephrologist Wirral University Teaching Hospital Foundation Trust, recently participated in a humanitarian health mission to Syria, organised by Atlantic Humanitarian Relief (AHR) in partnership with the 1995 Charity Foundation.
During the mission, Dr Abdulnabi successfully raised over £5,000 to support critical medical services and infrastructure improvements for local hospitals. The multidisciplinary team carried out a range of advanced procedures, including coronary angiograms, corneal transplants, dental surgeries, and other complex cardiac interventions.
In addition to clinical work, the team provided training in both basic and advanced life support, helping to build capacity among local healthcare professionals.
