Improving Care For Kidney Patients, Carers and Community in the North West

Collaborate. Communicate. Coordinate

The North West Kidney Network (NWKN) is one of eight Kidney Networks in England. The NWKN was established in February 2022 with just two core roles, the network soon developed its structure and team and was fully established by August 2022.

The role of the NWKN is to focus on achieving the NHS long term plan, better health and wellbeing for everyone.

  • Embed lived experience of kidney problems into all aspects of network business, proposals and developments
  • Quality care for all patients
  • Sustainable use of NHS resources
  • Strategically align our work programme with the Renal Medicine Getting It Right First Time (GIRFT) report and the 10 high impact changes, outlined by the Renal Service Transformation Programme (RSTP) supported by the Renal Clinical Reference Group (CRG)
  • Analyse, identify and develop regional strategies for the future of kidney care in the Northwest
